Ktistakis: "An historical success"

Athinaikos celebrated the advance to the Eurocup's Final (by winning Dynamo for the second time) and now is aiming higher: to the title! The assistant coach of the Virona's team, Giannis Ktistakis, talked to sepk.gr about this great success and the work of a scout who becomes easier when working with women.
"I think that the ticket to the final is a great success of Greek basketball in general. Behind this great moment, we can find the team work, the passion and the poise of a large group of people, from the players, to the coaches till the mayor Nikos Chardalias.
This success didn't come by accident. The team was built from the beginning to aim high in every level. The truth is that now all of us share the same vision: winning the European title. We have to try really hard because we are playing against a team from Russia. We have played against a lot of Russian teams this season, but Dynamo Nadesda is the best of them.
We have already started studying our opponent and I believe that on the Thursday before Easter we will be ready.
About the game he commented: "we expected a tough match, because we knew that our opponent would come out and fight till the end. They are a hard-nosed team that plays really good defense. Our girls showed a lot of patience, concentration and that's how we got the win".
The job of a scout is easier or more difficult when working with women? "The effort we are putting is the same. We are proud to manage the best roster in Greece. We have a lot of experienced players. The Greeks are playing in the National Team, while the Americans have played in the WNBA. So our job becomes a lot easier in terms of tactics. Men have also a lot of experience in dealing situations like this, but I can say that women are more concentrated and they receive the information a lot faster. They also react quickly".
