Tziallas: "The key and the locker-room"

tziallasPeristeri got the most impressive win in the most recent day of A1 League. The team from the west side of Athens beat Aris and reached ten wins. Now they found themselves in the 6th place of the standings. The assistant coach of Thanasis Skourtopoulos, Dimitris Tziallas talked to sepk.gr about this season and the big win over Aris.

"There is no such thing as a key that led as to the win, but we can say that there are many smaller keys to achieve such a great thing. The truth is that the entire weak we were prepared to face Aris with Andrew Betts in the center position. The Englishman didn't show up due to a health issue. Despite all that we showed great passion, we were well prepared to exploit the weaknesses of our opponents.

Last week we had many problems due to injuries, but in general we are playing well. I think that the win over Aris is a continuation of the last three good games we had. ON the other hand playing without our fans, creates a problem to the team. It is a different thing for the players to play in the atmosphere that our supporters create and it is an entirely different thing to play in an empty gym.

That fact makes the players nervous and I can release why. We are a new team and personally I really enjoy every win, because I was born and raised in Peristeri.

The next game is against Maroussi and we will try to analyze our opponent, trying on the same time to solve the problems that will occur.

Our goal is to finish in the first eight teams. I have worked with a lot of coaches and I tried to get from each and every one of them things that will help me in the future. From Thanasis Skourtopoulos I have separated certain elements which make him successful. He is very calm and always has a straight head when he has to make the calls.

Also when we built the team during the preseason he had the way to look for the players we were interested in. That's how we got Arnold, who really helped us from the beginning. We also have to mention Hammonds, who is playing in Greece for the first time and helped the team make the fewer turnovers in the league. Also we have the help from Tsiakos, Papanikolopoulos, Agadakos. The key of Peristeri is the great atmosphere in the locker room".
