Christopoulos is the new coach of Trikala


Trikala announced the agreement with Giannis Christopoulos, who was named the new head coach of the A1's "rookie" team.The 34years old coach will replace Giannis Tzimas, who resigned last week.

"For the first time in my career I see a team with such a positive aura from the beginning. With the people of the team we reached an agreement really quickly and I am ready to get to work. We want to succeed really badly" was his first words.

"I don't know much about the team, but I am optimistic that we will reach our goals" added the coach from Patras.

"AS Trikala is very happy to announce the start of the collaboration with the coach Giannis Christopoulos.

Despite his young age (he is only 34) Giannis Christopoulos has to showcase a career that can be easily be envied. The administration board of the team realized that it had the same opinion and philosophy as the coach and appreciated his zest and his ambition for the creation of a team capable to stand up in A1.

Giannis Christopoulos started his career near Faidon Mathaiou and after he worked as the assistant coach of Kostas Missas during the 1998-1999 season in Apollon Patras, where he stayed the following season next to Dirk Bauerman.

In 2000-2001 he word side by side with Bauerman in the German team Brandt Hagen and after that he paid his military duties while coaching the team of the Greek Air Force. In 2004 he was named head coach of APOEL (Cyprus) and in 2005 he was promoted as the head coach of Apollon Patras (A1).

In 2006-2007 he worked in AEL (A1), while the following season (2007-2008) he started the season in Olympiada Patras before resigning in January". ...intelligent web software
