Demertzis: "Bonding, atmosphere and poise"

PAOK women's team is marching in the A2 League (Northern Group) and now is close to clinch the title and the participation to the A1 League for the first time in team's history. The coach, Apostolis Demertzis, talked to about the season and the "legacy" his players are carrying.

For the last game (PAOK beat Megas Alexandros by 63-40) he said: "we won easily, despite the fact we weren't in a good day".

For the season he quoted: "It was unexpectedly good! We had in our mind from the beginning that we are able to have a good run, because we had a quality roster. On the other hand he had made 7-8 additions and that's why we weren't so sure. We played quite good and we managed to deal with the difficult games in the beginning, letting our opponents "kill each other".

Referring to his team he noted: "we have players with a lot of heart. We mixed some experienced players with some young and talented. The team bonded and we had great atmosphere in the locker room. The girls really loved one another and also they showed poise in practice and they worked hard. We were a fighting team, which used its experience. We were also lucky, because we had some difficult games in the beginning. Game by game we became better".

He also mentioned the name of "PAOK" about which he commented: "it is a positive thing. PAOK is a big club. We had the support of our fans and the help of the administration. We believe that the KAE (men's team administration) will also help when the team reaches the A1 league. So we can say that only good things will come, because everybody respects PAOK". ...intelligent web software
